About Damon Young & TAP

“Mr. Damon does an exemplary job of performing. His use of audience participation is very engaging for our mixed age audience, and he is well loved by both parents and children.”
- Gretchen Schweers, Toco Hill Library

Theater Arts and Puppets offers innovative and original puppet and music performances for libraries, school assemblies and special events.

As teaching artists we mentor kids to design and perform theatrical works by accessing their natural state of creativity, kindness, self-actualization and cooperation. Kids in TAP programs achieve educational objectives through discovery learning, learn art and theater skills, and grow while exploring positive, enriching characters and stories relevant to their peers, family and community.

Damon Young, TAP's founder, is the Lead Teaching Artist at the Center for Puppetry Arts, and a Teaching Artist for the Georgia Council for the Arts and Fulton County School's Teaching Museum.  He has been working with kids and theater over 10 years, including participation in the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing  Arts. Damon designs and directs puppetry performances, and has performed as a musician across the USA and Canada. He has recorded albums and soundtracks as a musician, director and sound designer.
